DISTANCE

ELEVATION GAIN

50,000'

DURATION

13 days

For 13 days in October 2019 we rode our bikes in a loop starting in Bressanone, Italy for about 250 miles. We followed some of the Trans-Dolomiti trail from Bikepacking.com and then connected to other trails and things we wanted to see, including the Stoneman trail, Sella-Ronda MTB trail and the Trans Alp trail.

MUST KNOWS

CAMPING

-You can"wild camp" along the route as long as you are discreet

-You could even stay in a hotel/hostel/Airbnb in the various towns you pass along the route

FOOD/WATER

-Plenty of creeks along the route to fill up

-Plenty of towns along the way

NAVIGATION

-Used Ride with GPS app to follow route with phone mounted to handle bar

-We brought a Garmin InReach SE+ so we could send texts each night to family to let them know we are safe

FYI

-Italy uses a different electrical socket and voltage than the US

-You could do this trip without a stove

DIFFICULTY

-There is a lot of climbing!

-Don't let the low mileage fool you, this is difficult

-We did this on full suspension mountain bikes with 2.6" tires, but you could probably do this on a less aggressive bike
